The Coorg WildLife society today took strong objection to Power grid Corporation of India planning to pull a 400 KV power line to Kerala from Nagarahole National Park.

Addressing a press conference here, president of the CWS, Col. Muthanna took strong objection to the line passing through Dubare, Devamachi, Maldare and Kutta and said that it is hazardous to the health of children, animals and plants.

Insisting on the power corporation to pull the line through a route which already exists, he appealed to them to cancel the planned route. He noted that the line, which increases 72 KMs due to the new plan will also disturb the Elephant corridor – Devamachi and other places.

Convenor of Cauvery Sena, Ravi chengappa told that he would organize protest if the government does not change its plans.

Vice president K.M.Chengappa and member B.B.Chengappa were also present.
