    Large number of villagers, led by Cauvery Sene staged a protest against a mini hydel project proposed at Koodoli Kundh near Surlabbi in Somwarpet taluk.

    Villagers from Surlabbi, Kumbaragadige, Mankya and Garvale came in large number to the spot yesterday as media and members of Kaveri sene went there. They stated that a Bangalore based company did survey. The company intends to block two rivers that meet during monsoon and flow towards Madapur, they said.

    We will protest the proposal at any cost, they declared.

    Convenor of the Cauvery Sene, Ravi Chengappa told that the Sene will not allow this project to come up.

      Its good to know that Cauvery Sena is doing a good job in protecting the beauty of Kodagu. I personally support these kind of groups to protect the interest of Kodagu.
